A-PINK’s 9th EP Look

On April 13th, 2020, A-PINK released a new mini-album titled LOOK. It marks A-PINK’s 9th mini-album (Extended Play). LOOK consists of seven songs: “Dumhdurum” as the title track, “Yummy,” “Be Myself,” “Love is Blind,” “Overwrite,” “Moment,” and “Everybody Ready?” The album LOOK set the overall concept as “I,” meaning “I love myself as I am, I will live as I see it,” and the songs in the album also include stories that focus on “I.” The title track, “Dumhdurum” contains a combination of melodies with synth reads and a kind of Spanish vibe. The song itself is about accepting a broken love story calmly. “Dumhdurum” is an expression of a new word that my heart is calm. In addition to the title track, “Yummy” is an R&B dance song that tactfully expresses love with a sweet taste. There’s also a unit song, such as “Be Myself” sung by Cho-rong, Eun-ji, and Nam-joo, which expresses the will to live like myself without forgetting the pain of love; and “Love is Blind” sung by Bo-mi, Na-eun, and Ha-young, which expresses her love in a cute way, and expresses herself in front of the break-up with other memories.

Music Video & Concept

The “Dumhdurum” music video was released on April 13th, 2020, the same day as the digital release. It was released on A-PINK’s official YouTube Channel and 1theK channel. The color grading of A-PINK’s music video is really good and the outfits are matched well with the concept. The song itself is about letting go of a lover without being sad. Just like the lyrics, “You letting my love fall apart left me which is good for me. Bye, bye, baby Dumhdurum. I don’t feel sad, I don’t shed tears. My love is over Dumhdurum,” A-PINK members show their way of expressing the feeling of the song.
