ATEEZ’s Legendary Performances and Ranks in Kingdom
In Kingdom, the contestants go head to head by showing their best performances until the final round. There are five rounds in which the contestants should go through and every round has a different theme. And as expected from ATEEZ, in every round, they managed to show the audience a legendary performance, not leaving their pirate concept.
Introduction Stage – Rank 5th (0 pts)
Before Round 1 of the event, as an Introduction stage, ATEEZ performed “Wave: Overture”, the song that got them their first music show win. With their signature pirate concept, ATEEZ brought the audience in awe with their strong performance. In this stage, ATEEZ only got 504,215 global votes and ranked 5th place. While the first place was hold by Stray Kids. Only the winner that can get 1,000.000 points, so ATEEZ and other groups besides Stray Kids didn’t get any points and their points remain zero.
Round 1 – Rank 2nd (4,418.537 pts)
In Round 1: To The World, the contestants would perform one or two of their representative hit songs with a different arrangement so it could differ from their usual stage performance. ATEEZ chose their song “Symphony No. 9” (From the Wonderland) and won the highest points from that stage which led them to the 2nd rank of overall stages. In “Symphony No.9” (From the Wonderland) ATEEZ members are pirates on a journey looking for a treasure. Opening the performance with a fierce rap from Hongjoong, ATEEZ made a stunning performance through the fight with a monster and eye-opening vocals. Even non-ATINY can’t deny how great ATEEZ’s “Symphony No. 9” (From the Wonderland) is!
ATEEZ’s Round 2 – Rank 3rd (3,302.062 pts)
Round 2: RE-BORN is the time when contestants show their style by performing other contestants’ songs; and this time, ATEEZ performed iKON‘s “Rhythm Ta” but in ATEEZ style, thus moving forward into The Awakening of Summer. In ATEEZ’s hands, the hip-hop laid-back “Rhythm Ta” is a performative song with strong vocals. ATEEZ grabbed the audience’s and expert’s attention and won the round. However, their rank dropped to 3rd of overall stages.
Round 3 – Rank 6th (2,171.463 pts)
In Round 3: No Limit, ATEEZ performed “Answer: Ode To Joy”. With the accompaniment of La Poem, ATEEZ once again proved that they are ready to conquer the stage and be The Kings. After this performance, ATEEZ got the total points of 2,171.463 and ranked 6th place.
Round Finale – Rank 3rd (6,101.043 pts)
It’s time for the Finale. To see whether or not ATEEZ are going to be The Kings, they performed “The Real” as their Finale song. For the finale song, ATEEZ gave it their best and made the stage enjoyable to watch. As a result, ATEEZ ranked 3rd with total points of 6.101.043.
ATEEZ Got Mistreatment from Mnet During ‘Kingdom’?
It’s not only happening for once or twice, Mnet allegedly mistreating ATEEZ for several times during Kingdom filming. You can see that ATEEZ only got empty room and chairs for their waiting room. Or, when they only practice in the corridor instead of a proper room, and they are only given a small room for changing. Even during the broadcast, Mnet also mistakenly wrote the name of ATEEZ’s member, San, as a The Boyz’s member. ATEEZ’s Missing Member in Kingdom: Mingi Didn’t Participate Because of Anxiety
If you have noticed from the performance videos that ATEEZ only performed with 7 members, that’s because Mingi didn’t participate on the show. Mingi was on hiatus due to anxiety since earlier before Kingdom started. So, ATEEZ performed with a missing member throughout the show. However, KQ Entertainment released an announcement on May 27, 2021, that Mingi will still participate in the recording of ATEEZ’s new song for the final round, “The Real” even though he didn’t perform it together with other ATEEZ members.
