T-Max’s Profile

T-Max (Hangul: 티맥스) is a boy group that debuted in 2007 under 2Step Entertainment or also known as Planet905 and had 5 members to promote with. Initially, T-Max debuted with a formation of 3 members, including Shin Min-chul, Kim Joon, and Park Yun-hwa. T-Max was a boy group that had a name meaning, in which the T stood for ‘Triple’ because there are 3 members who started the journey and released their debut single titled “Blooming”. Like a fresh concept, T-Max’s Shin Min-chul, Kim Joon, and Park Yun-hwa were in the midst of the competition in the South Korean music industry and their existence even earned them the nickname Kkotminam (Hangul: 꽃미남), or also known as the youngster (mostly used for men), who are concerned about having a great personal style, fashion, and beautiful appearance. T-Max are also now known as one of the boy groups who often released their new songs in the form of EPs, also 5 singles, as well as other songs that have successfully become soundtracks of K-Dramas. One of the most popular OSTs was “Paradise” which became the soundtrack of the popular K-Drama titled Boys Over Flowers (2009) that was released on KBS, becoming a top hit and also earning a place among the most legendary soundtracks ever. “Paradise” was sung by T-Max fits perfectly with the theme of F4, a handsome and charming male group in the K-Drama.

Not only that, T-Max also got the opportunity to fill in several other soundtracks for K-Dramas, such as for Master of Study (2010) that was aired on KBS2, and Detectives in Trouble (2011) that was also aired on KBS2. T-Max have also released several Japanese tracks, such as “Motto Paradise” as the Japanese version of “Paradise”. On July 15th, 2009, T-Max released their 1st EP, Single Collection, as well as releasing 3 solo tracks that were sung by different members. Along with the popularity of T-Max, which was increasingly recognized by many people and has succeeded in attracting the attention of many fans, individual members of T-Max also got another opportunity to try a solo career by making an appearance in K-Dramas, just like Kim Joon who became very popular from his act in Boys Over Flowers as Song Woo-bin, appearance in sitcoms and also musicals. With their career journey, Park Yun-hwa decided to leave the group because he had to undergo military service. Because there were only 2 members left, it was impossible for them to continue the promotion as T-Max. Then, to replace Park Yun-hwa, there was a change in the member line-up by adding 2 new members and there was a change in the formation of T-Max, which debuted with 3 members in 2007. This means they changed to a 4-member group in mid-2010.

2011 was the last year T-Max released a new single titled “She Was Crying” (Hangul: 그녀 가 울어) which is a ballad song and has the meaning of a man’s confession and also seeking for forgiveness after a mistake that happened in his relationship with his lover, which leads to a painful farewell. This song is the last single promoted by T-Max with the formation of 4 members before they decided to disband on January 4th, 2012.
