NCT U

NCT which stands for Neo Culture Technology officially debuted on April 4, 2016, through the first sub-unit named NCT U with members Taeil, Taeyong, Doyoung, Ten, Jaehyun, and Mark. U stands for United. NCT U is designed to be a sub-unit that will continue to change from its concept to the number of members involved. This makes this sub-unit have no leader. The single “The 7th Sense” is the first moment the six people debuted with the identity of NCT U. “The 7th Sense” is a hip hop groove song, and the music video is focused on mesmerizing dance actions by its members Jaehyun, Mark, Ten, Taeyong, and Doyoung.

NCT U’s Debut Teaser

To introduce the concept as well as the members who will be promoting with NCT U, SM Entertainment shared a series of teasers which included individual pictures and music videos. Fans could see how cool the members are who will debut as part of NCT U and their appearances while wearing casual outfits, giving out youth vibes and charisma as an idol. From the teasers, fans can recognize each member who will debut together with NCT U and also the highlight of “The 7th Sense” which sounds very unique. The three members who were promoting to sing “Without You” also had the opportunity to release a teaser image together. The three members are Jaehyun, Taeil, and Doyoung to promote “Without You” as the debut song of NCT U.

The music video teaser for “Without You” was also released in 0:20 seconds, featuring a very unique cinematograph with the camera movements showing the members as the footage and also the highlight of the song. Fans can also see Winwin who made an appearance as a model in “Without You.”

NCT U’s Music Video

After teasing fans with various teaser releases in the form of photos and videos, SM Entertainment finally answered fans’ curiosity by officially debuting their new boy group with the name Neo Culture Technology or NCT with the first two teams being named NCT U. Finally on April 9, 2016, NCT U, which consisted of two teams, officially debuted by releasing two music videos, “The 7th Sense” and “Without You,” which were released on April 10, 2016, and showed stunning vocals from its members, namely Jaehyun, Doyoung, and Taeil with the pop-rock genre. “The 7th Sense” displays the musical abilities of NCT U’s members, from singing, dancing, to rap. Not only that, the chill trap music will certainly make fans more lulled by the voices of the NCT U members. The very artistic and cool camera editing cannot be separated from the 3-minute video.

SM Entertainment also prepared another song that is no less cool by releasing an EDM music video for “Without You.”

NCT U’s Debut Stage

NCT U held their debut stage on KBS2’s Music Bank which was held on April 15, 2016. At the start of the performance, the cameraman highlighted Taeyong as the first member to appear with a very mysterious expression with a red light showing the dark side behind “The 7th Sense.” After that, there was also smoke rising on the stage as an effect that gave the uniqueness of the NCT U concept, and the members choreographed with each other in sync.

On the same day, NCT U also performed another debut stage by bringing “Without You” on stage. The three members, which are Jaehyun, Doyoung, and Taeil, looked charismatic while singing along with the pop-rock genre song. NCT 127

On July 1, 2016, SM announced NCT’s second sub-unit, NCT 127. This sub-unit is based in Seoul with the symbol 127 which is the longitude coordinates of the South Korean capital. If NCT U was designed to have no leader, NCT 127 would be the first NCT sub-unit to have a leader, Taeyong. NCT 127 debuted with the song “Fire Truck” and had seven members: Taeil, Taeyong, Yuta, Jaehyun, Winwin, Mark, and Haechan. However, on December 27, 2016, SM Entertainment added two members to this sub-unit, Doyoung and Johnny.

NCT 127’s Debut Teaser

NCT’s first sub-unit, NCT U, debuted on April 9, 2016, with “The 7th Sense” and “Without You.” A few months later, SM Entertainment debuted another sub-unit under the name NCT 127 which consists of 7 members. On July 2, 2016, 2 members of NCT 127 were introduced through photo teasers, which were Haechan (Lee Dong-hyuk) and Yuta. Next, SM Entertainment introduced 4 other members, Taeyong, Winwin, Jaehyun, and Mark Lee. Taeyong and Winwin’s photo teaser was released on July 3, 2016. With the bad-boy concept, the two NCT 127 members look cool despite being messy in their t-shirts and denim jackets. On July 4, 2016, SM Entertainment released a teaser for the other 2 members, Jaehyun and Mark. Slightly different from their style in the NCT U sub-unit, Jaehyun and Mark successfully surprised fans who didn’t realize their new hairstyles. FROM YOUNGEST TO OLDEST: TAKE A LOOK AT NCT’S AGE ORDER! After releasing a series of individual and group photo teasers, SM Entertainment finally released a music video teaser for NCT 127’s debut song, “Fire Truck,” which is the main song from their mini-album of the same name. The music video teaser was released on July 6, 2016, at midnight local time through the official SM Entertainment YouTube channel.

“Fire Truck”’s music video teaser opens with a scene of a Caucasian little girl and her family on the music video set. Accompanied by upbeat music, this video also features the actions of Taeyong and other members wreaking havoc at an office and school.

NCT 127’s Music Video

Previously, SM Entertainment teased fans by releasing a series of photo and video teasers of NCT 127’s debut song “Fire Truck.” After being postponed, the music video for “Fire Truck” was finally released on July 7, 2016, through SM Entertainment’s official YouTube channel. In “Fire Truck”’s music video, NCT 127’s personnel became bad teenagers who create chaos in an office and school. Not enough, Taeyong and other members are also seen bothering a girl. “Fire Truck” is a combination of the hip hop and trap genres with the addition of Moombahton rhythms that are perfect for summer. Besides presenting an upbeat rhythmic song, NCT 127 also showed off cool choreography through this song.

NCT 127’s Debut Stage

NCT 127 held their debut stage on M Countdown on June 7, 2016. The sub-unit’s first mini-album based in Seoul was released digitally on June 11, 2016, while the physical album was released on July 11, 2016. LET’S FIND OUT ABOUT NCT’S IDEAL TYPES!
