Cool Jayanth, who was a famous choreographer in Tamil cinema in the 90s passed away in 2021. He has served as a dancer in Prabhudheva and Raju Sundaram master’s dance troupes before making his debut as a dance master with the 1996 film ‘Kadhal Desam’ directed by Kadir. Cool Jayanth died on 10.11.2021 at his home in West Mambalam, Chennai due to ill health. He came to the fore in his field when he choreographed for songs ‘Mustafa’ and ‘Kallori Salai’ in AR Rahman’s music for ‘Kadhal Desam’. Producer KT Kunujom, who introduced Cool Jayanth in ‘Kadhal Desam’ posted, “Omg.. Prayers.. Very sad to hear the demise of choreographer Cool Jayanth. I remember your hard work and talent poured to ‘ kalloori salai ‘ song of my movie #Kadhaldesam when I introduced you to industry.. My heartfelt condolences… #Ripcooljayanth” (sic) Cool Jayanth has worked as a choreographer in over 500 films so far and he has also worked in film starring Ajith and Vijay. He has worked as a choreographer not only in Tamil films but also in many Malayalam films. Popular choreographer Cool Jayanath passed away due to cancer. He has worked in several films in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. Having started his career as assistant choreographer to Raju Sundaram, he also worked with Prabhudeva. Cool Jayanth made his debut as choreographer in films with Kadhal Dream. His work in Mustafa Mustafa and Kalloori Salai were widely acclaimed. He went on to do many movies in Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu. He worked with the likes of Mammootty and Mohalal in Malayalam cinema. He was affected by cancer a few months ago. Though he underwent treatment in a private hospital, his end came in 2021.
