Background of “Do It Again”

On October 7th, JYP Entertainment announced that Twice would debut on October 20th. The agency also unveiled a second group image teaser on October 9th and confirmed that the lead single for the upcoming EP album is titled “Like Ooh-Ahh.” On October 10th, Twice released a tracklist poster for the EP album. Through this tracklist poster, we can see that there are six songs (one lead single and five sidetracks) on this debut album. You can see the tracklist poster here. After that, from October 12th until the 14th, the agency released individual video teasers for each member. On October 17th, the agency shared an instrumental video for all tracks on the EP album. On October 20th, The Story Begins album and its lead single were officially released. On that day, there was only a physical release of the album. The digital version of this album was released two months later, on December 11th, 2015. The release of this album was done through various music sites including their official YouTube channel.

Story of “Do It Again”: A Song About Getting a Love Confession

The Korean title of “Do It Again” is “다시 해줘” (read: dashi haejwo) which literally means “please do it again.” The lyric writer for “Do It Again” was the CEO of JYP Entertainment, Park Jinyoung. The composer and the arranger for this song was Artisans Music, specifically Glen Choi and Fingazz. The song is about how it feels when getting a love confession from someone. From this song, we can see that if someone confesses his/her love to someone else, then that someone else will feel an excited and happy feeling.

There’s no music video for “Do It Again.” The only music video that is available from this debut album is for the lead single “Like Ooh-Ahh.”

“Do It Again” Performance: Performed on M Countdown, Music Bank, and Show Music Core

As their debut stage, Twice performed “Do It Again” on various K-pop music programs. They performed this song along with “Like Ooh-Ahh,” the lead single. Those music programs were M Countdown on the Mnet K-POP station, Music Bank Hot Debut in the KBS World TV station, and Show Music Core on the MBC Kpop station. Even though the promotion period has ended, the members still perform this song after months or years in various events. They performed this song on MBC Harmony on the MBC Kpop station on February 23rd, 2016. They performed this song on September 11th, 2016, at two events: Rock Music Awards and the 2016 World Friends Music Festival. They also performed this song at KCON Japan on April 22nd, 2016. In 2017, they performed “Do It Again” at the Seoul Music Awards alongside other songs like “Precious Love” and “Jelly Jelly.” They also performed it at the Seoul Music Awards on January 19th, 2017.
