Two years later, The Boyz was formed by Cre.Ker Entertainment (a sub-label of LOEN Entertainment) in mid-2017, and Jacob was first introduced on July 21, 2017, through an introductory video, THE BOYZ X DAZED PROFILE FILM #11 JACOB.
On November 28, 2017, ahead of their debut, The Boyz released the individual teasers of its 12 members with a white background: Jacob, Sang-yeon, Younghoon, Hyunjae, Juyeon, Kevin, New, Q, Ju Haknyeon, Hwall, Sunwoo, and Eric.
