Background of “First Time”
Twice were reported that they were in the final steps of preparing the June comeback, and this was reported on April 19th, 2021. They also had plans to film the lead single’s music video on Jeju Island, South Korea. On May 3rd, 2021, Twice officially announced that the comeback would take place on June 11th, 2021, with the release of their next EP album titled Taste of Love. This announcement was officially confirmed by JYP Entertainment, their agency, which also said that official details would be released soon along with a fixed schedule. Starting from May 9th until May 26th, they released their album packaging previews, their fixed schedule, and their group posters. On May 31st, they released the tracklist poster and the EP album trailer. It was revealed that all of the side tracks in this EP album were written by Twice members. This is their tracklist poster. After the release of their tracklist poster and their EP album trailer, they released the members’ individual posters and the group posters in the next few days. The previews of all the songs in the EP were released on June 8th, including the preview of the song “First Time”. The EP album was released on June 11th, and the song was also released on YouTube and Spotify on that day too.
Story of “First Time”
As I’ve told you before, all of the side tracks in this EP album were written by the members. The song “First Time” is not an exception; its lyrics were written by Jihyo. Jihyo wrote the song “First Time” for this EP album, together with composers Rick Parkhouse, George Tizzard, Jade Thirlwall, and Sophie Cooke. Rick Parkhouse and George Tizzard, who are a part of The Red Triangle Productions, also arranged this song. This song is about the feeling of the first time falling in love with someone.

As a side track, there’s no music video released for the song “First Time”. The members’ plan to do the music video filming in Jeju Island was for the music video of “Alcohol-Free”, the lead single of the EP album.
