Kim Seul-gi (The Idle Mermaid)
First of all, we have Kim Seul-gi from The Idle Mermaid. Kim Seul-gi played the role of Ahn Hae-young, while Nam Joo-hyuk was cast for the role of Park Dae-bak. Even though both of them were supporting cast here, their appearance was quite important and also gained the attention of The Idle Mermaid’s viewers! The Idle Mermaid told a story about a mermaid who fell in love with a human. The mermaid was Aileen, and the human was Kwon Shi-kyung. They met accidentally when Aileen was sitting next to the Han River where Kwon Shi-kyung was there with his TV crew and did a shooting for his Chef TV show. In order to meet again with Kwon Shi-kyung, Aileen steals a potion that can change her into a human girl, and following her transformation, Aileen changes her name into Kim Ha-ni, and she also meets several new friends, including Ahn Hae-young and Park Dae-bak in their residence. Nam Joo-hyuk played the role of Park Dae-bak, one of Aileen’s residents in their house. Park Dae-bak is a smart guy who is an expert in computer-related things. He used to live comfortably with his parents, but he got cut off by them. One of the sweet interactions between Ahn Hae-young and Park Dae-bak was when Ahn Hae-young told him that she has finally managed to enter the second round of selections of her auditioning for an actress. Park Dae-bak was happy for her, even he offered her to be her acting partner for her exercise. Ahn Hae-young and Park Dae-bak started their dialogue for Ahn Hae-young’s exercise, but suddenly things turn out quite differently because we find them in a position where Park Dae-bak kisses her! Funny enough, he finds himself surprised by the whole thing and says to Ahn Hae-young that he doesn’t know why he kissed her!
Kim So-hyun (Who Are You: School 2015)
Next, we have Kim So-hyun and Nam Joo-hyuk and their appearance in Who Are You: School 2015! In the drama, Kim So-hyun acted as Go Eun-bi and Go Eun-byul, while Nam Joo-hyuk played as Han Yi-an. Basically, Who Are You: School 2015 told us about the life of twin sisters, Go Eun-bi and Go Eun-byul. They used to be orphans until Go Eun-byul was adopted by a rich family, while Go Eun-bi stayed in the orphanage. Each of them lived a separate life of her own. Go Eun-byul still remembers that she has a twin sister, while Go Eun-bi seems to have forgotten that she has a twin sister. Until one day, Go Eun-bi is involved in an accident and as a result, she suffers from amnesia. When she wakes up, people are calling her Go Eun-byul. Then, she starts living as Go Eun-byul for a while, until she realizes that her current identity might be odd. At the same time, people also looking for the real Go Eun-byul who went missing. Nam Joo-hyuk played the role of Han Yi-an, Go Eun-byul’s childhood friend who is secretly in love with her. He is an expert in swimming, he works really hard to chase after his dream to become a national champion in swimming. As Go Eun-byul’s childhood friends, until they went to senior high school, both of them were in the same school. At first, Han Yi-an doesn’t realize that Go Eun-byul isn’t actually Go Eun-byul (it is Go Eun-bi who suffers from amnesia). But eventually, he finds out that it is Go Eun-bi. One of the interactions between Han Yi-an and Go Eun-bi from the drama was, when Han Yi-an and Go Eun-bi were together and talked about her memory. Go Eun-bi said that she already got her memory, then Han Yi-an was asking if she was real Go Eun-byul. Go Eun-bi didn’t tell him the truth that she is actually Go Eun-bi. At first, Han Yi-an was mad at her and thought that all of it might be a lie. Then Go Eun-bi finally told him the truth that she isn’t Go Eun-byul, and she is Go Eun-bi.
Kim Sae-ron (Glamorous Temptation)
There’s also Kim Sae-ron and Nam Joo-hyuk and their appearance in Glamorous Temptation! Kim Sae-ron played as young Shin Eun-soo, while Nam Joo-hyuk played as young Jin Hyeong-woo. Glamorous Temptation told a story about three lead characters with various purposes in the drama. First, there’s Jin Hyeong-woo, a guy who lives for revenge. He swore to himself since he was a teenager that he would take revenge against anybody who has contributed to his father’s death. Then, there’s Shin Eung-soo, a woman falsely accused of being involved in something she wasn’t actually involved in. She also lost her husband at a young age, but she has grown up to be a single parent for her daughter. There’s also Kang Il-joo, Jin Hyeong-woo’s best friend. Since he was a child, Kang Il-joo was taken care of by Jin Hyeong-woo’s family. Kang Il-joo fell in love with Shin Eung-soo, but unfortunately, his love was unrequited because Shin Eung-soo was in love with Jin Hyeong-woo. Nam Joo-hyuk and Kim Sae-ron played the teenage versions of Jin Hyeong-woo and Shin Eung-soo. One of their interactions in the drama was about their mutual feelings. Jin Hyeong-woo kisses Shin Eung-soo to prove feelings for her, even though his parents might forbid him to have feelings for Shin Eun-soo.
Seohyun (Moon Lovers: Scarlett Heart Ryeo)
Next stop, we have Seohyun and Nam Joo-hyuk in Moon Lovers: Scarlett Heart Ryeo! In the drama, Seohyun played the role of Woo-hee, the last princess of Later Baekje, while Nam Joo-hyuk acted as the 13th Prince Baek-ah. Even though their appearance in the drama was slight, it nevertheless, managed to catch the attention of viewers! Basically, the drama told a story about a woman named Go Ha-jin (played by Lee Ji-eun) who accidentally gets transported to another century. She ends up in the Goryeo Dynasty after saving a child’s life from drowning, and suddenly her soul is within Hae Soo’s body, one of the princesses in the Goryeo Dynasty. Go Ha-jin meets a prince from the Goryeo Dynasty, Prince Wang-soo (played by Lee Joon-gi), who is famously known as a cold prince there. Since the setting is using the historical theme, there are a lot of prince and princess characters here, including Nam Joo-hyuk and Seohyun! Nam Joo-hyuk played as the 13th Prince Baek-ah, while Seohyun played the role of Woo-hee, who ends up becoming Prince Baek-ah’s lover. He meets her for the first time when Baek-ah is sketching in the forest. One of their interactions in the drama is when Prince Baek-ah and Woo-hee are involved in a deep conversation about their fate. The two of them are in love, however, fate just won’t support them. They have to be separated because Prince Baek-ah is one of the sons of the king who is Woo-hee’s family’s enemy. As a farewell, the two of them end up kissing.
