Background of “Going Crazy”: The Story Behind Twice’s Debut Album

October 7th, JYP Entertainment confirmed that Twice would make their debut on October 20th. This confirmation was accompanied by the release of a group photo teaser. Two days later (October 9th), the agency released their second group photo teaser and the lead single’s title. The title for the lead single is “Like Ooh-Ahh.” On the next day, the agency released a tracklist poster for this album. From the tracklist poster, we could see there would be six songs, one lead single and five sidetracks, on this debut album. You can see the tracklist poster here. After the release of the tracklist poster, Twice revealed individual teaser videos from October 12th until the 14th. An instrumental video was also unveiled too; it was unveiled on October 17th. The Story Begins and “Like Ooh-Ahh” were released physically on October 20th. The digital version of this album was released on December 11th, 2015, through various music sites like YouTube and Spotify.

Story of “Going Crazy”: A Song About Being Crazy in Love

“Going Crazy” has the original title in Korean “미쳤나봐” (read: michyeossnabwa) which literally means “must be crazy.” The lyric writers of “Going Crazy” were Daniel Kim and Kebee. The composers of this song were Jake K. from ARTiffect Music, Joseph Park, Sophiya Pae from Feeline Music, and Sam Gray. Jake K. and Joseph Park also arranged this song. This song is about loving someone crazily. Because of his/her craziness for loving that someone, he/she has uncontrollable feelings towards that person.

There’s no music video for “Going Crazy.” The only music video that is available is “Like Ooh-Ahh,” the only lead single from this debut album.

“Going Crazy” Performance: Performed on Twiceland Stages and Fan Meeting Events

On December 11th, 2015, Twice performed “Going Crazy” for the first time at their first mini fan meeting event. In 2017, Twice performed “Going Crazy” on their first concert tour called Twiceland– The Opening. The members performed this song in three cities, first in Seoul, South Korea, second in Bangkok, Thailand, and third in Singapore. They performed this song on seven stages from February 17th until June 18th. Twice performed this song again at two fan meetings titled “Once Begins, Twice Begins.” Those two fan meetings were held on September 24th, 2018, and July 6th, 2019.
