K-Drama All of Us Are Dead Review and Ending Explanation

All of Us Are Dead successfully became one of the hit series on Netflix, not to mention it has an impressive and interesting plot regarding the zombie virus. It tells a story about a teacher from Hyosan High School who accidentally creates a mysterious virus to strengthen people, but somehow it leads people to become wild like zombies. Suddenly, all the school residents turn into zombies, and the rest of the people try to survive including several students who protect each other from the zombie attacks. Moreover, there are also a couple of students who turn into half-zombies and half-humans without any further explanation. WARNING: The section below contains a spoiler!

All of Us Are Dead Ending

Just like the common Korean Netflix series, All of Us Are Dead has released the 12 episodes in a row, so people could binge-watch and enjoy it without distraction. During the last episode, the remaining students from Hyosan High School such as Lee Cheong-san (Yoon Chan-young), Nam On-jo (Park Ji-hoo), Lee Su-hyeok (Park Solomon), Choi Nam-ra (Cho Yi-hyun), Lee Na-yeon (Lee Yoo-mi), and the rest of the ‘small groups’ try to escape from the school to save their lives and they go to the safest place called a ‘camp’. At the same time, Cheong-san has to face Yoon Gwi-nam (Yoo In-soo) who has turned into a half-zombie, just like Nam-ra. One of the heartbreaking moments happens when Cheong-san and Gwi-nam are involved in a fight, and the scene ends with both of them dead, and Cheong-san sacrifices himself to protect his friends from Gwi-nam who wants revenge on him. Just like destiny, Nam On-jo and her fellow friends who survived eventually make it to the camp despite their struggles, but sadly, some of them die while trying to get to the camp. However, Nam-ra doesn’t go with them because she doesn’t want to hurt her friends with her current condition as a half-zombie. After a few months in the camp, the situation gets better than before. One night, Nam On-jo and some of her friends go to the school building, which kind of makes for a nostalgic moment. Surprisingly, they feel the appearance of Nam-ra there. In the end, Nam-ra doesn’t stay with her fellow friends and remains a half-zombie. In their last encounter, Nam-ra tells her friends that she has missed them, but she decides to stay in her ‘place’ because there are other creatures who seem to be the ‘same’ as her. Lee Su-hyeok who has feelings for Nam-ra, eventually accepts her decision, as well as the other Nam-ra friends who are grateful to see her again after a while.
