Jung Suk-won in Kingdom

In 2019, Jung Suk-won landed a serious supporting role in Netflix’s political zombie thriller original series, Kingdom. In this full of stars, popular drama, Jung Suk-won worked alongside screenwriter Kim Eun-hee, director Kim Seong-hon, and actors and actresses Ju Ji-hoon, Ryu Seung-ryong, Bae Doona, Kim Sang-ho, Kim Sung-kyu, Jeon Seok-ho, and Kim Hye-jun. The series became a critical success and was even renewed for a second season and third second! Fans around the world are flocking because of the top-notch cast and exciting storyline. In this drama, Jung Suk-won played an antagonist role, Cho Beom-il, a member of the powerful Haewon Cho clan and the son of Cho Hak-ju and the brother of the Queen. He was the chief of Joseon’s Royal army and became Lord Cho’s trustee with a mission to secure his interest in the political position. He was assigned in the plot to keep the King alive as the undead until his Queen sister had given birth to the new prince. Cho Beom-il was also the one who was sent by Lord Cho when the Crown Prince escaped the kingdom after being accused of treason. Sadly, his appearance only lasts for two episodes after he was killed by one of the zombies at the clinic near Dongnae after he successfully tracked the Crown Prince and engaged in a short sword fight. He was infected by the zombie who overtook one of his guards, who in turn infects Beom-il, and eventually is killed by the Crown Prince. Beom-il’s head then was sent back to Lord Cho, who swore to kill the Crown Prince and his followers as revenge on behalf of his son.
