BTS members don’t have English names despite their popularity in the US market. But, in an interview with BuzzFeed Celeb in 2017, BTS members answered questions about what their English stage names would be.

BTS’s Jin’s English Stage Name: Genie

BTS’s Jin‘s English stage name is still quite the same as his real name, Genie. In Korean, his name can also be called as Jinnie, which has the same pronunciation with Genie. He even sang the song called Genie by SNSD when he introduced his English stage name!

BTS’s Suga’s English Stage Name: Yon-gi Min

BTS’s Suga‘s English name, Yon-gi Min was based off his real name, Min Yoon-gi. He said that he heard Yon-gi Min a lot when people called him at the airport. Apparently, it was some non-Korean speakers mistake when pronouncing his Korean name. Oh, how cute!

BTS’s J-Hope’s English Stage Name: J-Dope

BTS’s J-Hope‘s English stage name, J-Dope, might be inspired by one of BTS’ song, Dope. But, let’s just agree that he’s such a dope too. Which stage name do you like better, J-Hope or J-Dope?

BTS’s RM‘s English stage name is simple, Monie. It’s because his stage name was written as Rap Monster and sometimes shortened as Rap Mon. So, that’s how he came up with Monie as his English stage name.

BTS’ Jimin said that English names usually are long just like Christian, so he chose Christian Chim Chim as his stage name! As you may know, Chim Chim is one of the nicknames of Jimin.

BTS’ V’s English stage name is Jack. V mentioned that he came up with the name Jack because the producer wants the name to be only one syllable. V probably got the inspiration from Titanic’s Jack because right after he revealed the name, he impersonated dramatic scene and said, “Jack~” What a hilarious answer!

BTS’s Jungkook’s English Stage Name: Justin Seagull

BTS’s Jungkook‘s English stage name is Justin Seagull. He said that it was because he’s a fan of Justin Bieber, so the stage name is similar with the Canadian singer.
