Episode 158 – Attack of 2NE1
2NE1 became guest in Episode 158 of Running Man. The episode aired on July 28th, 2013, and the shooting location was in Hangang Park, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. The title of the episode was “Attack of 2NE1.” In the episode, the Running Man members were space aliens that have been on Earth for a very long time. 2NE1 is their comrade alien who has just arrived on Earth. Their mission on Earth is to search for water as they come from a planet that is in desperate need of water. The amount of water that they all need to take back to their home planet is exactly 21 liters. They have to obtain that amount of water by the end of the final mission. The team is divided into three teams. The pink team consists of Yoo Jae-suk, Lee Kwang-soo, Park Bom, and Minzy. The orange team consists of Haha, Kang Gary, Sandara Park, and CL. The green team consists of Ji Suk-jin, Kim Jong-kook, and Song Ji-hyo. For the first mission, one member of each team will use a bell, while the other members choose one earthly item respectively. The ones who are wearing bells are Yoo Jae-suk, Kang Gary, and Kim Jong-kook. Soon after the other members choose their earthly item, they are separately transported to Yeouido Park. The members that have chosen an earthly item have to disguise themselves as earthlings and must avoid other teams’ search parties who are disguised as earthlings with their bells. They have to find their team’s UFO that is hidden somewhere in the park. If their name tag is ripped off by anyone wearing a bell, they are immediately ousted. They also have to carry their earthly item to the end. CL’s earthly item was a baby stroller, Minzy’s item was a bear doll, Park Bom’s item was a cello hard case and Sandara’s item was a swimming tube. As soon as the mission started, Sandara Park was ousted by Yoo Jae-suk with the help of Park Bom and Minzy. Meanwhile, Park Bom was ousted by Kim Jong-kook and CL was also ousted by Yoo Jae-suk. In the end, Haha and Minzy were the only ones who found the UFO. The identity of the UFO was a car. Each team’s water was deducted by four liters as two members of each team were ousted. The next mission was to push the other teams into the water on a floating board. The last team to remain standing would win the mission. In the first round, Minzy managed to eliminate some other team’s member and defended herself well. But in the end, she was eliminated by Kim Jong-kook. For the second round, Ji Suk-jin eliminated his team members – Kim Jong-kook and Song Ji-hyo – to have a one-on-one battle with Minzy. In the end, Minzy won the battle and eliminated Ji Suk-jin. Minzy’s team won the third round and win the mission. Her team won’t lose their water, while the green team lost two liters and the orange team lost five liters. The next location was YG Headquarters in Mapo-gu, Seoul. In the building, various types of hints were scattered. Each team had to find the hints and solve the riddle. The first team to arrive at the final location would be the winner. Big Bang’s Taeyang made an appearance and helped the green team. Akdong Musician and Lee Hi also made appearances. The Orange Team was the first to arrive at the final location and didn’t lose any water. The Pink team was the second to arrive and lost two liters of water. The Green team was the last to arrive and lost four liters of water. The final mission was to find the water jugs that were hidden throughout the area and the first team to completely fill 21 liters of water would be the ultimate winner. The amount of each team’s water was 15 liters for Pink Team, 11 liters for Green Team, and 12 liters for Orange Team. Pink Team found the water. They used Lee Kwang-soo and Yoo Jae-suk as decoys so that Minzy can successfully fill their container. Kim Jong-kook found two water jugs and successfully filled his team’s container. Kim Jong-kook found another jug but Lee Kwang-soo threw his body to cover over the container. When the other team tried to take the jug away from Kim Jong-kook, Park Bom managed to take the spilled water with a towel and filled the Pink team’s container to fill up the 21-liter mark. The Pink team won the final mission and won a UFO with four pieces of gold ornament on it. The prize was given to 2NE1 members.
