It has been over 6 years since Twice debuted as one of the most popular girl groups from South Korea under JYP Entertainment. Before their official debut, JYP picked the members of Twice through a survival show called Sixteen, a collaboration between JYP Entertainment and Mnet. Three months after the show ended, the final members made their debut as Twice under JYP Entertainment and released a debut EP called The Story Begins with the lead single entitled “Like OOH-AHH.” JYP Entertainment announced the debut news of Twice on October 7, 2015. Then, on October 9, the group photo teaser for Twice was released alongside the title for the lead single, “Like OOH-AHH.” The details of the EP were revealed on the next day, including the full tracklist with a total of 6 songs on the EP. The individual photo teasers for each member were released consecutively on October 12, 13, and 15. “Like OOH-AHH” was released on October 20, 2015, by JYP Entertainment through KT-Music. The song was written and composed by Black Eyed Pilseung and Sam Lewis. Rado was the one who made the arrangement. Black Eyed Pilseung and Sam Lewis were also the ones who were previously producing a successful song for another girl group under JYP Entertainment, Miss A, entitled “Only You.” Based on the lyrics, this song tells about a super beautiful woman who attracts people’s attention and wants to feel love. Even though many people adore and like her, she does not want to be careless in choosing a partner. She will only choose the right person to be her partner. This song also has the Japanese version later released for Twice’s debut in Japan on June 28, 2017. Yhanael wrote the lyrics for the Japanese version. The song was described as a “color pop” dance track with hip-hop, rock, and R&B elements. The official MV of “Like OOH-AHH” by Twice was released and uploaded on October 20, 2015, on JYP Entertainment’s official YouTube account. Kim Young-jo and Yoo Seung-woo directed the MV as the production team Naïve. In the MV, Twice’s members are busy dancing and singing in a run-down hospital filled with zombies. They do not realize the zombies and continue to enjoy the fun until the end of the MV when one zombie hears his own heartbeat and turns back into a human. Fun fact, Bang Chan from Stray Kids and A.C.E‘s Chan were in this music video as cameos!
