NMIXX’s Kyujin’s Pre-Debut Story
Kyujin joined JYP Entertainment after a private audition she did in 2018. She was only twelve years old when she started training in singing, rapping, and dancing. This is a graduation photo of Kyujin from when she was in school. When she debuted in February 2022, she was almost 16 years old, meaning she was still in high school. Kyujin took an entertainment major at Hanlim Multi Art School, an art high school in South Korea. Kyujin Debuted With NMIXX as a Main Dancer
Kyujin was revealed as a member of NMIXX in the first batch together with Jiwoo and Jinni. Although the concept of NMIXX is 7 all-around members all with singing, dancing, and visual abilities, Kyujin is assuredly considered one of the main dancers of NMIXX. Besides, her first appearance after being mentioned as a member of this new girl group under JYP Entertainment is a dance performance video. Her dancing flows with her incredible singing skills. NMIXX, which is referred to as “Your Next Favorite Girl Group,” debuted on February 22, 2022, with the single album Ad Mare. Kyujin showed her singing talent on their first lead track “O.O.”
Kyujin Tested Positive for COVID-19 in February 2022
Kyujin was infected with COVID-19 after experiencing symptoms of a fever and sore throat just before NMIXX was close to showcasing. However, she took two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine so it seems likely she got mild symptoms. All members also followed self-quarantine guidelines after being close to Kyujin to prepare for their debut showcase. JYP Entertainment released a statement saying on February 20, 2022, Kyujin was positive for COVID-19 after the PCR test. Then, she followed protocol and self-quarantined. The company also assured fans that Kyujin received treatment during her self-quarantine. Therefore, the showcase of NMIXX was postponed while waiting for Kyujin’s recovery.
