On October 30th, 2016, Sam Hammington joined the KBS variety show The Return of Superman with his baby son William Hammington. His son, William was born on July 12th, 2016, and was around 100 days old when he first appeared on the show. In the variety show, Sam’s wife, Yu-mi also appeared several times. In his first episode of The Return of Superman, Sam Hammington watches soccer with his son and gets scolded by his wife, who tells him, “What are you doing? I told you to take care of the baby.”
Sam Hammington then put on hip-hop and spoiled himself in small dancing sessions. He looked to be having fun, but like many new fathers on the show, he started to worry when his wife started preparing to go on vacation.

On the episode of The Return of Superman that aired on January 7th, 2018, William Hammington’s little brother, Bentley Hammington was revealed to the public for the first time. During the episode, Sam Hammington and his beloved wife, Jeong Yu-mi recalled their memory about William’s birth as the family went to the hospital to give birth to their second child.
Sam and Yu-mi revealed that they tried really hard for the first pregnancy. Yu-mi was finally able to conceive William after many attempts, including two attempts at intrauterine insemination and one attempt at in-vitro fertilization (IVF). Fortunately, William was conceived and later born through cesarean section. When she was giving birth to William, the doctors kept saying it was almost over, but baby William did not want to come out. She then jokingly asked William, “You didn’t want to come out, right?”
And for the second pregnancy, the couple explained that they only went through one attempt at IVF. Yu-mi said that she was pregnant with the second child immediately after giving birth to William and it was unbelievable. Sam revealed his thoughts and said that he has many emotions.
