Saranya married Binu Xavier in November 2014 but later they divorced. Saranya Sasi is an Indian actress who works in the Malayalam film and television industry. Her debut serial was Sooryodayam which was aired on Doordarshan. She also acted in the Telugu serial Swathi. In 2010, Saranya made her Tamil film debut as a lead in the movie Pachai Engira Kaathu while Chacko Randaman (2006) is her Mollywood debut film. Saranya rose to fame when she acted in the award-winning Malayalam serial Karuthamuthu (2014) directed by Praveen Kadakkavoor. This serial was remade in Tamil which is titled Bharathi Kannamma. Before diagnosing she wrongly assumed that her head pain was due to a shot put ball that hit her head during school days. As of 2019, Saranya has undergone 7 head surgeries to save her life from tumor. Unfortunately, she is facing financial issue for her 7th surgery. In February 2015, Saranya voluntarily quit from the serial Karuthamuthu because she felt that the crew showed an unprofessional attitude towards her. Saranya had gone through 11 surgeries to cure her brain tumor. She was a spiritual person and often goes to temples. She is supported by her best friend Seema Nair during her illness and crisis time. Her husband left her during the illness of a tumor which affected her mentally as well as physically. In the pandemic time, she created her own Youtube channel named “ City lights Sharanyas vlog” and uploaded videos of recipes and her personal life. It’s all over for actress Saranya Sasi who after battling cancer for nine years, breathed her last at a private hospital in India, said industry sources. The actress was in her mid thirties and hails from Kannur. The actress shot into fame through hugely popular TV serials, later acted in Malayalam films alongside superstar Mohanlal and others. It was in 2012 while shooting for a TV serial that she suddenly collapsed and it was later found that, there was a tumour in the brain. Since then she underwent close to 10 surgeries and in between she also resumed her acting career briefly, but could not continue for long. But things went haywire for her after she turned Covid positive in June and since then she has been fighting for her life, which finally ended on Monday morning.
