After the success of the 5th extended play, on July 9th, 2018, JYP Entertainment released the expended reissue of What Is Love? by Twice titled Summer Nights containing the track titled “Shot Thru the Heart”. Background of “Shot Thru the Heart”
Two months after Twice made their comeback with the 5th extended play, on June 7th, 2018, JYP Entertainment announced that Twice will have another comeback with a special album titled Summer Nights, a reissue of their 5th extended play What Is Love? The album consists of 9 songs with “Shot Thru the Heart” included in it as the third track. “Shot Thru the Heart” itself was written by 3 Twice members, namely Momo, Sana, and Mina. The lead single was entitled “Dance the Night Away” with the music video filmed in Japan. Three other members of Twice, Jeongyeon, Chaeyoung, and Jihyo, also participated in the album as songwriters for two different songs. The preview of the song “Shot Thru the Heart” alongside two other songs was released on July 8th, 2018, one day before the full album was released the next day. Story of “Shot Thru the Heart”
Written by the three of Twice’s Japanese members, Momo, Sana, and Mina, “Shot Thru the Heart” was included in Twice’s special album titled Summer Night released on July 9th, 2018, as the third track. David Anthony Eames, Sophie White, Amy Richardson, and Mayu Wakisaka were the ones who did the music, while the one who did the arrangement was David Anthony Eames. The lyrics of this song show the attitude of a woman who is in love with a man who does not seem interested in her. When all other men approach and try to win her heart, this one man is so different which makes her even crazier and she wants to make him hers.
