SKarf’s Latest News

SKarf released their first comeback single with “Luv Virus” on May 19, 2013. This is a good sign that a girl group is getting enough promotion to release a new song after its debut.

“Luv Virus” is one of the songs that has a cheerful beat and fits perfectly with the concept given by SKarf at that time. “Luv Virus,” which SKarf announced was a comeback after about a year, is a song written by hitmakers Igi and Seo Yong-bae who composed Ailee’s “Heaven” and Orange Caramel‘s “Lipstick.” “Luv Virus,” which contains the happy stress and natural worries of girls in love, in a lovely melody line solves the parts that might sound too light with strong drum beats, cute guitar play, and sensual synthesizer sounds. It was foretold that it would cause a hot sensation in the music industry. In addition to the title song “Luv Virus,” this mini-album contains a total of 5 songs. The R&B pop “Bye Bye Bye,” the recently popular rock-based dance-pop “Anymore,” the pop “Sunny Day” featuring an acoustic guitar arrangement, and lastly, the ballad song “My Turn” featuring Korea’s best guitarist Hong Jun-ho’s acoustic guitar is the tracklist that raised expectations from the public. In particular, SKarf, which returned to a more mature appearance after throwing off its youthful sensibility after debuting in 2012, not only exuded the scent of a woman hiding but also stood tall as a leader in the lineage of the next generation of girl groups with stronger vocals. But, unfortunately, “Luv Virus” became their latest single to release in 2013 after the agency announced that SKarf was having another schedule in Singapore to hold a one-day restaurant food event with the earnings from the event being donated to charity. A few months later, SKarf was scheduled to hold a showcase from August 10-11, 2013, titled “Dreams Come True” that was located on Kallang Theatre. But, since then, there have been no following promotions from SKarf, and the agency didn’t prepare anything for the group, let alone release new songs since “Luv Virus” was released in the middle of 2013. A year later, SKarf’s Ferlyn announced that she decided to leave the group to pursue her solo career on September 16, 2014. SKarf didn’t get any promotions since then, and later, in 2015, the brand name was sold to South Korean entertainment company CJ E&M. Several former members of SKarf are currently pursuing their own careers and making their own paths to stay active. SKarf’s Tasha debuted as a Singaporean actress and also appeared as a contestant on Mnet’s Idol School in 2017. SKarf’s Hana re-debuted as a member of Secret Number under VINE Entertainment. SKarf’s Jenny doesn’t have any social media, and it can be assumed that she lives her life as a non-celebrity. Meanwhile, regarding the former members, Joo A also does not have social media and may be the same as Jenny who lives her life as a non-celebrity after SKarf disbanded. Sol reportedly debuted as a musical actress and Ferlyn used the name Ferlyn G to debut as a soloist in 2015. Even though SKarf is no longer promoting at this time, its name will still be remembered in K-pop history as one of the first girl groups to have members from several countries such as Korea, Japan, and Singapore. Let’s continue to give a lot of support and love to each former member of SKarf who is currently living their respective careers and personal lives! Well, that is all of the information about SKarf and everything you should know about them.
