If not, let’s check out the detailed information about Blady’s profile, members’ profiles, debut era, performances, until their latest news, in the article below!

Blady’s Profile

Blady (Hangul: 블 레이디) is a girl group that originally had a line-up of 4 members and debuted on May 16th, 2011, under Star Planet Entertainment with their pre-debut single, “Spark Spark” (Hangul: 찌릿 찌릿) which also has a unique retro concept. Continuing on to their debut single, Blady finally released their title track, “Crazy Day” (Hangul: 미친 날) on July 27th, 2011. Blady were also active on several social media, such as YouTube, Twitter, Fan Café to keep interacting with fans. Blady also had a fandom called HoneyB. Blady debuted and immediately received a positive response from the public, including one of the hit composers from South Korea, Shinsadong Tiger, who is famous for his songs for several K-Pop groups, such as 4Minute and BEAST. He knows very well the struggles of the members who are very passionate and each of them has great skills to show on stage. Their debut song “Crazy Day” was the first step in showing their charm to the world. Although Blady were a rookie group who was not yet recognized, on the day they debuted on M Countdown, overseas fans flew in and cheered for them. During their debut era, the new girl group Blady jumped into the ‘Girl Group War’. They were introduced through terrestrial news before their debut, and it can be said that they were scary rookies that received attention as fans from around the world flew to Korea to support their debut stage. In their first original member line-up, Blady was a four-member girl group consisting of Darae (22 years old), Bunhong (21 years old), Kangyoon (19 years old), and Sunyoung (19 years old). Blady, a compound word of ‘Black’ and ‘Lady’, has the meaning of girls who have all the possibilities and all the charms at the same time as if all colors are mixed together to become black. Blady said, “We already have a fan page overseas and reactions are coming little by little. Our goal is to become a global group, and it’s good to see that we are approaching little by little. Above all, we will build pride and confidence in our songs.” The music industry is a girl group war. The comeback of large girl groups continues, and new girl groups pour out. For Blady, they were both an object of learning and a rival. Blady said, “We carefully monitor the other girl groups. We are trying to learn the good points while watching the stage, and we try to make up for the regrets. We are working hard.” As a strategy to survive the girl group competition, Blady rocked the charm of 4 people and 4 colors. In “Crazy Day”, if you showed powerful sexy beauty, there were still many stages left to show different charms. “Blady’s color is not limited to cute or sexy, but the concept is going to change and the role model will change. In this album, if you wanted to show a strong and cool look like 2NE1, the next album that we prepared could show a feminine charm like Girls’ Generation. We can also show T-ara‘s cuteness as well. We want to benchmark existing girl groups, but show the color of Blady, not an imitation,” they said. The team system will also change in various ways and will try to transform itself. Whenever an album is released, one new member will be introduced and the final album will be released with seven members. “The rehearsal for our next album was over. We were anxious to show a different color soon. We want to be a group loved by the public with various colors.” On February 1st, 2012, Blady’s management company SY6 Entertainment said, “In August 2011, Blady debuted in 12 countries with the title song ‘Crazy Day’. We have a new member line-up change.” Blady, who debuted as a four-member group consisting of Darae, Kangyoon, Bunhong, and Sun-young, originally planned to complete the seven-member group by recruiting members one at a time. The new member, Nahyun (21 years old), has a slim body with 167 cm and 46 kg. She is from an aviation college crew and was born to have a face like an Ulzzang. Nahyun also has a pretty face and a perfect body that does not require correction, like an elite model finalist in 2008. In particular, as she has undergone rigorous training since two years ago, it is said that she stands out in various fields such as singing, dance, and entertainment, and is evaluated as a rare talent. Meanwhile, the face of Blady’s new member, Nahyun was revealed through an advertisement for Linteus 96.7 Health Drink, which was expected to be exported to Japan. After getting additional members in early 2012, Blady actually had to receive some news about disbandment which was a rumor in early 2013 because for one year after debut, Blady had not released a new song for their comeback. To answer the disbandment rumors, Blady finally released their new song titled “Blood Type B Girl” (Hangul: B 형 여자), which was released on November 18th, 2013.

In this era, the member line-up had changed again. Kangyoon was the only original member since debut, who lasted until the “Blood Type B Girl” era and immediately gained the position of leader of the group. On this comeback, there were 4 new members who entered Blady’s new line-up, which were Coco, Tina, Yeji, and Soo-jin. The previous 4 members, such as Darae, Bunhong, Nahyun, and Sunyoung were reported to have left the group. “Blood Type B Girl” has a catchy and fresh concept because they are different from their debut era. This song was made as a collaboration project from several well-known producers, which are C-Luv and also the songwriter Stay Tuned. “Blood Type B Girl” also has the strains and genres of hip-hop and rock that make the mood happier. Beside that, this song also has the same concept as Blady with a funky theme and an additional urban electronic beat. Through this comeback, all members of Blady actually have the same B blood type.

After that, Blady introduced their first subunit, Blady Soul (Hangul: 블 레이디 소울), which consisted of Yeji and Soojin as the members. Blady Soul released their first song, “Please Don’t Leave Me” (Hangul: 떠나 가지마), in a different genre than usual. The two Blady members who were members of Blady Soul sang the song with full appreciation in the smooth R&B medium tempo and also to commemorate White Day. After releasing their comeback song, “Blood Type B Girl” and also the first subunit with “Please Don’t Leave Me”, their agency announced that 3 members of Blady, namely Coco, Kangyoon, and Yeji decided to leave the group in late 2014. Unfortunately, their promotions didn’t really go well. Another one of the members, Soojin, decided to leave the group in March 2015. However, they didn’t stop there because their management announced another comeback with a 5-member line-up. From the previous format with Tina, the new members who were added to the group were Giru, Dayoung, Ye-eun, and Gabin.

Alongside their new comeback and promotion, Blady released a mini-album titled Renovation on March 9th, 2015, with the title track “Come To Me”, which was released on March 30th, 2015, and they made a comeback with a new line-up. Still in the same year, Blady made their next comeback with the release of “Secret Number” (Hangul: 비밀 열쇠). With two different videos uploaded on October 19th, 2015, the music video for “Secret Number” had a slightly different concept as well. Presenting the concept of summer, Blady look very cheerful and fit the theme, and they also look very fresh when playing together and enjoying the excellent weather.

After the comeback with “Secret Number”, Blady also received individual promotions because one of the members, Giru, managed to release a solo project single, Blady Solo Part.1 – “Spring Love Scent” (Hangul: 봄 사랑 향기) ft. Unplugboy (언 플러그 보이), which was released on April 29th, 2016. Unfortunately, Blady’s career journey had to stop after about 5 years after debuting in 2011. Blady, who had made three line-up changes, were finally announced by their management to be disbanded in late 2017. Each member of Blady also expressed her gratitude on Instagram by uploading a post as their farewell to fans who have supported Blady’s career so far.
