In this article, Channel-Korea will be providing you all the information you need to know about f(x)’s disbandment and where are the members now. So, stay tuned!

f(x) Members Leaves SM Entertainment

It’s really hard to be MeU (the official fandom name of (f)x) these days. There’s been so much bad news when it comes to the group, yet never a new song is released. It looks like SM is more focused on the new girl-groups like Red Velvet, than on treating f(x) right. Given that, it isn’t really a surprise when, one by one, the members chose to not renew their contracts, leading to the group’s official disbandment. Amber Liu became the group’s first member to announce that she was no longer under the auspices of the big label who popularized her name. She opted out rather than extending the contract with the agency that raised her since 2009. The decision was made on the basis of wanting to continue making music. She posted on her Instagram with a caption in English: Hi Everyone, I would like to announce my contract with SM Entertainment has ended today and I have decided to part ways with the company. From the bottom of my heart, I’d like to thank everyone who believed in me and have been so patient with me all these years. I can’t wait to show you what’s in store in this next chapter of my career. Again and always, THANK YOU, love, peace, and boba 😉 Luna was also reported to have terminated her contract with SM Entertainment. SM representatives explained their contract with Luna had expired and she decided not to renew the contract with SM. Luna posted on her Instagram celebrating f(x)’s 10th year anniversary. https://www.instagram.com/p/B1-NjtrB0-o/ Following Amber, Victoria Song also announced her resignation from the SM Entertainment label, which she was in for 10 years. Victoria revealed her decision on her personal Weibo account, stating that she would move on to a new career. Ironically, the departure of the two f(x) members coincided precisely with the group’s 10th year anniversary. “On September 5, 2009, I stood on the stage and made my official debut. I understood at that time that hard work will always produce results,” Victoria said on September 5, 2019. She revealed that the 10-year time together with f(x) and SM Entertainment felt very brief, like a blink of an eye. But over these 10 years, she considered whether this was the endpoint and the starting point at once. “And now, this 10th anniversary is the endpoint, and also the starting point. I am grateful for everything with SM for the past 10 years, from now on we will continue in a new way. This is a new beginning, starting from the beginning, I will continue to be myself, never forgetting how I started and going forward bravely,” Victoria said through her Weibo. In the long farewell letter, Victoria Song, whose real name is Song Qian, also expressed gratitude for the trust and support that had flowed for her. She wrote: “I am grateful for all the trust and support I have received. I hope I have not failed to meet your expectations of me, and I will do my best in the future. So, are you ready to stay with me for the next 10 years?” “We are currently discussing a new way of collaborating with Victoria. We also still have time before our contract with Krystal. Meanwhile, our contracts with Amber and Luna have ended,” SM Entertainment said, as reported by OSEN. Related to the fate of the group f(x), there is no news that f(x) will disperse after the release of three of the remaining four members from the SM Entertainment agency. The exits of Luna, Amber, and Victoria from SM indicate that now only Krystal still continues under SM.

Victoria’s Solo Activity and Most Recent News

Like we said earlier, Victoria is more active in China in recent years. She is pursuing an acting career in her country and never appeared in any f(x) or SMTOWN’s activities. She released her debut solo single, Roof on Fire, with the associated music video on March 13, 2018. She has also joined The Next Top Bang as a mentor for the dance-oriented variety show, Hot Blood Dance Crew and talent search network. Victoria starred alongside Huang Jingyu in the fantasy romance series Moonshine and Valentine in May 2018. Positive reviews were received from the show, and Victoria was praised for her performance. Let’s hope the best for her on her new journey as an actress and solo artist. Fans will always remember her as f(x)’s amazing leader and the ‘mom’ for the other four members.
