BTS has been described as “easily the biggest and most successful name in K-pop in the world” that can “do things no other name in their genre can“, with Time giving them the nickname ‘Princes of Pop’. Billboard Senior Vice President Silvio Pietroluongo said that BTS is comparable to and as influential as the Beatles and The Monkees. Nielsen Music Vice President Helena Kosinski says that “although BTS was not the first to open the doors to K-Pop worldwide, they were the first to become mainstream. They don’t just appeal to young people but also to the 50s and 60s age demographic.” Of course, the success of BTS now is the result of the hard work the members have done with their music. In addition to being admired for their music, the visuals of the BTS members are no less admirable; one of them is BTS’s V. The following is evidence that BTS’s V is the King of Visual of the various photoshoots.

BTS’ V’s Persona Photoshoot

On April 12, 2019, BTS released their sixth mini-album, ‘Map Of Soul: Persona’, with the lead single ‘Boy With Luv’ featuring Halsey. Opening the MAP OF THE SOUL series with PERSONA, BTS talks about the joy of finding love, and reaches out to the world with the messages they want to share with their fans. BTS is especially curious about the stories of each and every one who has helped them become who they are today. There are a total of seven tracks in this album, through which BTS weaves together what they genuinely felt both within themselves and in the ever-widening world around them. Through RM’s solo piece ‘Intro: Persona’, BTS asks the fundamental question: ‘Who am I?’ World-leading singer Halsey takes part as the featured artist in the lead single, ‘Boy With Luv’, where BTS talks about how true strength and love come from finding joy in the little things in life and reaching out to the world. The album includes ‘Mikrokosmos’, which paints the world around oneself through human interest, and the collaboration with world-famous singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran, ‘Make It Right’. In ‘HOME’, BTS finds refuge from their hardships and loneliness where their fans are. ‘Jamais Vu’ is a unit song by J-Hope, Jin, and Jung Kook, and ‘Dionysus’ is a signature BTS hip-hop track, blasting ad-libs and powerful beats from start to finish. Big Hit Entertainment also shared a photoshoot V through BTS’s official Facebook account. With his blue hair, V was looking charming and handsome during the ‘Persona’ era. After his appearance with the blue hair, many netizens increasingly praised V’s visuals, and blue hair became a trend among idols.

BTS’ V’s Wings Photoshoot

‘Wings’ is the second Korean studio album (fourth overall) by BTS. The album was released on October 10, 2016, by Big Hit Entertainment. It is available in four versions and contains fifteen tracks, with ‘Blood Sweat & Tears’ as its lead single. WINGS contains songs about boys who encounter temptation for the first time, and must ponder and agonize in the face of it. As the seven boys experience pain and bliss, they bring forth the image of birds that break out of their shells and try to take flight for the first time. In this era, V again left his fans amazed by his visuals.

BTS’ V’s Singularity Photoshoot

In May 2018, V released his second solo song, ‘Singularity’, as the trailer for BTS’ then-upcoming third LP, Love Yourself: Tear. The trailer was described as having a sensual, dream-like atmosphere, and was praised for its use of symbolism and contrast. Overall, ‘Singularity’ was generally well-received by critics, and as a result, was mentioned on several year-end critics’ choice lists. The New York Times ranked it twentieth on its list of “The 65 Best Songs of 2018”, alongside ‘Fake Love’. The LA Times Pop Music Critic Mikael Wood named it the fourth “best and most replay-worthy song of 2018”, and Guardian Music Critic Laura Snapes included it as one of her favorite tracks in their “Best Music of 2018: Albums and Tracks” list. Through BTS’s official Facebook account, Big Hit Entertainment distributed teaser photos for the song ‘Singularity’, which was sung by V. With his black hair, V looks even more handsome and charming.

BTS’ V’s Love Yourself: Tear Photoshoot

‘Love Yourself 轉: Tear‘ is the third Korean studio album (sixth overall) by BTS. The album was released on May 18, 2018, by Big Hit Entertainment. It is available in four versions and contains eleven tracks, with ‘Fake Love’ as its lead single. The concept album explores themes relating to the pains and sorrows of separation. BTS’s LOVE YOURSELF series bears the message that loving oneself is the beginning of true love. Whereas the previously unveiled LOVE YOURSELF 起 ‘WONDER’ and LOVE YOURSELF 承 ‘HER’ albums expressed the heart-fluttering and tingling moments of love, LOVE YOURSELF 轉 ‘TEAR’ album embodies the pain of boys faced with parting. BTS’s V really matches any color hair and any concept, and he looks very handsome from any angle.
