Before debuting as a group, Jerome and other TO1 members were contestants on Mnet’s survival show program named World Klass that aired in 2019. Among of 20 contestants that underwent a trainee period to become an idol group, 10 contestants were selected to be the final lineup to debut in TOO (Ten Oriented Orchestra). On December 6, 2019, they announced the top 10 winners and revealed them during a live finale. Jerome wasn’t the first contestant to be revealed as a TO1 member (formerly known as TOO).
