The announcement about Twice’s comeback with “TT” as the lead single was made by JYP Entertainment on October 10th, 2016. It was reported, that the group would release their third extended play titled Twicecoaster: Lane 1 on October 24th, 2016. Story of “TT”
The song “TT” by Twice that was released in 2016, was written and composed by Sam Lewis and Black Eyed Pilseung, who also previously composed some of Twice’s songs, such as “Like OOH-AHH” and “Cheer Up“; it was arranged by Rado. According to Sam Lewis who wrote the lyrics, the song describes the feelings of a girl who is in love for the first time. For the comeback with this song, Jihyo said, “We’ve got a song that best shows Twice’s energetic, bright vibe that we have shown with ‘Like Ooh-Ahh’ and ‘Cheer Up’.”

The MV of “TT” by Twice was released on October 24th, 2016, on JYP Entertainment’s Official YouTube Account. It was directed by Naïve who was part of the same production team for other Twice music videos, such as “Like Ooh-Aah” and “Cheer Up”. In the MV, Twice members portrayed different personalities and famous characters through Halloween-themed cosplays such as Pinocchio, Tinker Bell, White Rabbit, Hit-Girl, The Little Mermaid, a cute devil, a female pirate reminiscent, a mysterious vampire in a black see-through dress, and a mix of Elsa and the White Queen—wearing a long white dress. The MV of “TT” earned 5 million views on YouTube in less than 24 hours which set a new record and made it the fastest K-pop group music video to reach 10 million views in 40 hours. In 2016 YouTube’s Most Popular Music Video in South Korea, the MV ranked 3rd with “Cheer Up” on the top of the list.
