Verivery’s Minchan’s Interesting Facts
Cheonan, Chungcheongnam-do, South Korea, is Minchan’s hometown. Minchan’s an only child. Producer Chan is one of Minchan’s nicknames. Minchan filled the position as Lead Vocalist and Visual. Minchan trained under Jellyfish Entertainment for two and a half years. Minchan’s the tallest member of the group. Minchan’s MBTI is INTP. Minchan’s the same age as Hoyoung, that’s why he’s close to him. Minchan’s scared of heights. Minchan has participated in producing and writing lyrics for several of Verivery’s songs. Minchan can play instruments such as guitar and piano. According to him, his charm is his low voice. Minchan was revealed as the first Verivery member on September 3rd, 2018. Minchan really likes cats. Meat, sashimi, and sushi are his favorite foods. Minchan’s a big eater. Minchan is a good cook and he likes to cook for the other members. Minchan’s Official Debut with Verivery
Minchan’s debut with Verivery was confirmed by Jellyfish Entertainment on August 23rd, 2018. The name Verivery was derived from the Latin word “veri” which means “truth” and the English word “very”. The adjectives “various”, “energetic”, “real”, and “innovation” are formed together into the name Verivery with the hope that the group would embody those characteristics. Prior to their official debut, Verivery had their own reality show program where they were showing their daily lives and how they grew as teammates. The program was titled Now Verivery: Real Road Movie and was broadcast on Mnet from September 2018, where they were planning to debut in late 2018 or early 2019. They also sang the theme song for the program titled “Super Special”, which was released on September 21st, 2018.
After the debut confirmation, the group began to release individual photo teasers and a behind-the-scenes video. Minchan was the first member to be introduced on September 3rd, 2018. A set of individual teasers and a pre-debut TV show later, Verivery finally debuted on January 9th, 2019, with the release of their 1st mini-album (EP) VERI-US. Verivery’s Minchan’s Visual and Personality
Together with Kang Min, Minchan is in charge of the visual department of Verivery. During Verivery’s debut era, he was officially introduced as a member in charge of visuals. This decision makes sense. With those thick double eyelids, big deep eyes, slender nose, and perfectly-shaped V-line, he might as well come straight from a manga! It is often said that he resembles Kim Jin-woo, the visual from WINNER.
Minchan has a reasonable personality. He has good judgment and he has very high self-esteem. Aside from that, he is also attentive and caring for others, and is often regarded as the person who takes care of the members best.
He is also known for his clumsiness and overflowing aegyo. He can make people around him feel good, even the ones who just see him on the screen.
Verivery’s Minchan’s Vocal
Unlike most of the Verivery members, he has a plain, low-pitched voice. His voice is thick with deep bass, enriching Verivery’s vocal range. This unique quality vocal of his makes him suitable for any kind of song, from ballad to pop. He can make any song even sweeter.
On top of that, he is also good at playing piano and guitar. Around the time of his debut, he bought a new guitar and was practicing hard. And the result is he became a talented musician on top of being a singer!
Verivery’s Minchan’s Video Editing Skills
Aside from being the vocalist and visual of Verivery, Minchan is also in charge of editing the videos uploaded to Verivery’s official Twitter which is managed by the members. He was also in charge of making Verivery’s MV DIY version. He said that he mainly uses Adobe Premiere to work on video. He began to develop his talent for video editing during his trainee years. When he was a trainee, he was given the assignment to film the daily life of the members and submit it as a video. When he submitted the video for the first time, he was praised by the CEO who said, “You are good, you should learn to edit.” From then on, he started editing videos. At first, he learned basic skills such as cross-editing from employees of the company’s video editing team. After that, he started to learn on his own by searching tutorial videos on YouTube. He said he would like to be involved more professionally, such as directing and filming MVs if there is an opportunity. He first showcased his video editing skills through Verivery’s official Twitter account back in 2018.

In the early DIY MV, he focused on the free-spirited atmosphere and the chemistry between the members. Later, he began focusing on storytelling, directing, and visual beauty. He also learned to direct a professional lighting team and camera team to shoot and produce the Paradise & Photo DIY M/V. Hmm, no wonder he is called the Creative Doll, right?
