Initially, AlphaBAT debuted with energetic dance choreography but recently they appeared with a more mature style and very improved vocals. AlphaBAT is more popular in Japan than in Korea. After finishing their comeback activities in Japan, AlphaBAT are set to establish themselves in Korea. AlphaBAT’s Members
AlphaBAT debuted with two members, Kyumin and Selin under YUB Entertainment. The duo AlphaBat debuted on December 27th, 2012, with the single album Hello. Kyumin left AlphaBAT and YUB Entertainment in 2013, while Selin continued as the remaining active member. After Kyumin’s departure, YUB Entertainment recruited an additional eight members for AlphaBAT. With a nine-member formation, AlphaBAT performed on M! Countdown and marked their official debut date. In 2016, four members departed from AlphaBAT, they are C:ode; D:elta; F:ie, and I:ota. The group changed their label management from a Korean based agency to a Japanese based agency, Jakol Corporation. Later, another member, J:eta, departed due to enlistment in military service. AlphaBAT’s agency recruited a new member, K:appa. In 2017, H:eta decided to enlist the mandatory military service. The following year, he was replaced by L:ambda.

Comeback & Promotions
A year after releasing their album Fly, AlphaBAT released the teaser of their latest album on February 9th, 2020. The four members were wearing casual and comfortable winter sweaters. AlphaBAT also released a pictorial teaser for the album. They could be seen sitting comfortably in front of a bright window. The soft and gentle light from outside gave a soothing mood to the whole image. Two days later, on February 11th, the quartet vocal group released the mini-album Again. AlphaBAT and fans used the crowdfunding system Makestar to produce the album. Their project aimed for collecting 7 million KRW but ended up collecting more than 18 million KRW. The crowdfunding project lasted from November 7th, 2019 to December 30th, 2019.
“Again” is an R&B ballad that showcased each member’s vocal talent. “Again” expressed the feeling of a lover that had gone through a separation. The MV clearly expressed an empty void inside a person. Each member was pictured alone in a beach, forest, or open field. It’s lyrics expressed sadness. AlphaBAT wanted fans to see them as a more mature group. The quartet used to perform with dance choreography. Through this album, AlphaBAT wanted fans to see them as a vocal group rather than an idol group. All members participated in the concept and production of “Again.” They also decided on the music video concept for “Again.”
Get Your Love
“Get Your Love” is a collaboration project of various Korean artists and singers. It was produced by TVXQ, Produce 101, SHINee’s Taemin, TEENTOP, Kim Jae-joon, Stephanie, and many other artists. All AlphaBAT members participated in writing the lyrics. “Get Your Love” is a mixture between Tropical House and Dub Step music. It is a rare music combination that is difficult to find in K-Pop music.
New World
New World was released on October 8th, 2018, and consisted of three singles, “Just Begin,” “New World,” and “Blockbuster.” “New World” was an electro-pop dance. The intro began with a cheerful piano melody and followed by exciting guitar riffs. The music and lyrics expressed overflowing energy. The lyrics showed a shy love confession from a boy to a girl. The boy wanted to be with the girl in the new world while the girl fell in love with the boy’s love and determination.
FLY
“Fly” is a medium tempo ballad song. AlphaBAT’s leader, B:eta, participated in composing the album personally. Other members contributed to writing the lyrics. The boys expected fans to feel their honesty and true feelings in “FLY.” “FLY” expressed warmth and freshness of Spring.
